Junior Coach Development Opportunity

Haldimand Racquet Club is developing a new opportunity for some of our more experienced youth badminton players.

Players who have demonstrated strong badminton skills, maturity, responsibility, and a positive attitude may be invited to take part in our Junior Coach Development Pathway.

This opportunity is intended for players who are approximately 12 to 13 years old or older and who are ready for a more advanced role within the club.

Selected players may be invited to complete a basic badminton skills assessment. Players who successfully complete the assessment may be offered the opportunity to become a Junior Coach during our youth badminton session.

Junior Coaches would attend a two hour weekly program:

Hour 1: Youth Badminton Session

Junior Coaches help support younger and newer players through warmups, drills, demonstrations, partner activities, and games. They will be supervised by adult coaches and club organizers.

Hour 2: Adult Play

After the youth session, Junior Coaches will stay for one hour of adult play. This gives them the opportunity to continue developing their own badminton skills by playing with stronger and more experienced players.

The cost for Junior Coaches would remain the same as the regular youth badminton program, but would include the additional hour of adult play as part of their development opportunity.

This pathway is designed to help youth players build leadership skills, confidence, responsibility, communication skills, and a deeper understanding of badminton. It also gives younger players positive role models within the club.

Participation in this pathway will be by invitation only and based on skill level, maturity, safety, sportsmanship, and readiness to support others.

Further details will be shared with families of eligible players.
